Facilities and Equipment Engineer

- Develop specifications and preliminary design of assembly line side equipment based on Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
- Prepare equipment bid package information (per customer standards if applicable).
- Assist in requisition preparation for assembly line side equipment.
- Work with vendors on clarifications, review bids recieved and make reccomendations, help with award.
- Basic mechanical equipment design skills.
- Define Body-In-White and Trim-Chassis-Final material flow equipment requirements.
- Gravity Feed Rack (GFR’s), line side display equipment (dollies, risers, lift tables, turntables, tilt tables)
- Other material flow equipment (dunnage stands, storage signs, tip tables, bulk storage – warehouse racking).
- Must know AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD or Inventor 3D is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Willing to travel on average of 75%.
- Automotive experience is a plus.
- Must be a team player, pro-active and be able to perform under limited supervision.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree required. Equivalent experience will be taken into consideration.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized (multi-tasking)
